Replaced at 76,000 miles
Bought bulbs first, (see files for screen shot of item numbers) didn’t solve the brake light out. Only used one of each bulb.
Gasket material was difficult to unstick from body. Good sign. Left tail light PCB has corrosion around bulb seatings. Right PCD had burn marks from a short near where the connector slides on.
After replacement the light malfunction indicator was still illuminated only when the headlights were on. Checked those bulbs, everything was working. I remembered I hadn’t used both new bulbs on both sides. After replacing all old brake light bulbs and making sure they were in the right spot the indicator went away.
