Throttle Stop Screw and TPS Recallibration
Fixing idle

Decisions & Unknowns
What I need to figure out:
•
Tasks
What I need to do:
•
Loosen the throttle stop screw: Find the small vertical screw near the throttle return spring. Loosen its locking nut and turn the screw counter-clockwise until it is no longer touching the throttle linkage arm at all.
•
Find the contact point: Turn that same screw clockwise slowly until the very tip just barely touches the metal linkage arm.
•
Set the final stop position: From that exact touching point, turn the screw clockwise 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn. Tighten the locking nut down. This stops the internal valve from getting jammed shut.
•
Check for cable slack: Wiggle the throttle cable. It must have a tiny bit of physical slack so it isn't pulling the throttle open.
•
Loosen the TPS body: Locate the black Throttle Position Sensor box on the side of the throttle body. Slightly loosen its two mounting screws so you can rotate the sensor by hand.
•
Listen for the switch click: Rotate the sensor body all the way clockwise, then slowly turn it back. Listen closely for a faint mechanical "click" right as the throttle arm rests against the stop screw.
•
Tighten the TPS: Lock the sensor down by tightening its two screws right at the exact position where it clicks closed.
•
Go recalibrate the idle
