Engine bay and hood restoration
The front wheel arches were reshaped for tire clearance, and the shock tower braces were extended to match the new contours. The bay was stripped, sealed and repainted white. The thin aluminum hood reinforcement was repaired with bonded tabs and a replacement brace section.

Decisions & Unknowns
What I need to figure out:
•
Reshape the wheel arches and braces while preserving a factory-looking contour.
•
Repair the thin aluminum hood brace with bonded tabs after attempted TIG tacks damaged the original metal.
•
Retain the original hood insulators and add seam sealer where the brace meets them.
Tasks
What I need to do:
•
Strip and prepare the engine bay.
•
Form and extend .
•
Spot weld the reshaped braces back into place.
•
Repair with a replacement section and bonded support tabs.
•
Seal the repaired areas and prepare the bay and hood for paint.
•
Paint the engine bay and hood components white.
