Decisions & Unknowns
What I need to figure out:
•
Decide whether to retain the factory rods or install H-beam rods.
•
Decide whether the main bearings need replacement after crank inspection.
•
Finalize cam-sensor packaging behind the head for dual VVT.
•
Configure dual VVT control in MaxxECU.
Tasks
What I need to do:
•
Disassemble the replacement B5244T5 and inspect the major components.
•
Have the block and head cleaned and resurfaced for the factory MLS gasket, with valve-guide work as needed.
•
Refresh seals, gaskets, rings and bearings as supported by inspection.
•
Terminate the existing harness wiring for two cam sensors and two VVT solenoids.
•
Adapt the extra exhaust-side water-pipe connection.
•
Assemble, install and tune the replacement engine.
