Add functional air conditioning to the T5-swapped 242 using suitable Volvo 240 service components where practical, custom adaptation around the five-cylinder accessory drive, and MaxxECU-aware compressor/fan control.

Decisions & Unknowns
What I need to figure out:
•
Measure available compressor space, pulley alignment and belt routing on the five-cylinder installation before selecting or fabricating a compressor bracket. The FCP 240 compressor is a candidate, not verified bolt-on fitment to the swapped B5234T/B5244T accessory drive.
•
Measure condenser envelope, inlet/outlet locations and clearance to the existing 940 radiator, S60 PWM fan, intercooler and charge piping before ordering the 240 condenser.
•
Determine whether the retained cabin HVAC hardware uses the original expansion-valve arrangement or a later orifice-tube arrangement. Do not mix the two metering strategies.
•
Measure all refrigerant hose lengths and fitting sizes/orientations. Expect custom barrier hoses and adapters between the 240 chassis components and the T5 compressor location.
•
Choose the pressure-safety/control strategy. MaxxECU can be integrated into compressor-request and fan-control logic, but wiring, input type and fail-safe behavior must be defined before connecting the clutch.
Tasks
What I need to do:
•
Inventory the car's existing evaporator, HVAC box, controls, hard lines and firewall fittings before buying components.
•
Mock up compressor and condenser locations and record pulley, hose and mounting measurements.
•
Confirm the refrigerant metering strategy and select the matching expansion valve or orifice tube.
•
Fabricate or source the compressor bracket and custom barrier hoses/adapters required by the T5 swap.
•
Install the condenser, receiver-drier, pressure protection, compressor and completed hose set.
•
Wire A/C request, compressor clutch and pressure protection, coordinating idle-up and cooling-fan behavior with MaxxECU.
•
Evacuate, leak-test and charge the completed system with the refrigerant and oil specification chosen for the final component combination.
