Assembly requires cookies to securely sign you in. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced and turn off “Block All Cookies.” Then fully close Safari, reopen it, and reload this page.
I checked out the replacement engine with the straight edge and feeler gauges for any significant warping.
I’m relieved to see that it’s all nice and straight. The block deck, head surface, top of the head, and bottom of the cam cover are all within <0.1mm checking longitudinally from front to back in a few spots and angles.
With that checked off the list, next up is cleaning up the bores lightly with the dingleball flexhone before sending it out for resurfacing the head and block deck for the Volvo MLS gasket.
